I am just going to vent a little about the last few free rolls. There has been alot of new people allowed, which is great, but at the same time has also made it less enjoyable ( at least for me ). Like I posted in earlier posts, its not all about winning, its about having a good game with friends. No drama!
In the last few games there has been alot of name calling and rudeness (at lest at the tables I was at) , which is silly, its a freeroll guys not the WSOP.
Poker is not just a game of skill or luck, it is also a game of respect.
Most of us here enjoy the games because they are always filled with good players who respect the game and their opponanats, some good competion and some good conversation.
Hopefully it stays that way.

I agree Les. The thing is that the poker site wants us to get our numbers up to be able to keep the freerolls. So it is a situation we are all trying to cope with. The Valentine's Day freeroll was definitely to try and get new members and old member's to play at Fulltilt. I don't know if it worked or not.
I too miss the fun and good play of our smaller freerolls. I also miss our buy in games. It is too bad the poker rooms only understand "quantity" and not "quality".

Unfortunately
freerolls do collect their share of name callers
a couple weeks back
I was getting called alotta names

I was playing my regular tight game
got in a few hands
and was sucked out, by a player on my right
whom, was playing very loose
at the cards & the mouth
eventually they knocked me out
& continued to call me names
(for which, I never replied to any)
I was happy to see, they were knocked out next

I did try to follow that player
to a real buy-in or cash table
to see if they played the same way
I wanted to get in a real money game against em
I checked for 3 days
& freerolls, were all they entered, so I didnt bother anymore

anyway
the fulltilt Sat nite buy-in
is still very friendly

see ya there???

Well, im not sure how the freerolls here are run, but one thing I hate is on AP the freerolls they offer tend to get up and above 5000 people, i have cashed only twice in these over the few times ive played, but it gets to be so many people that a bunch of donks just push all in with the first hand they get and it turns into a luck fest! I too like to enjoy the game, get a read on people, and have more than an 18 out off 5000 chance of cashing... I think that AP needs to set a limit on how many can join...

If something cost you nothing then have you really lost anything? Therefore the donkish play and making it easier to hope for luck than taking the time to play with skill. The trash talk is a symptom of being reckless with chips (money to the mind) thinking they are worth nothing because they cost nothing but knowing they are everything and essential to your success of beating someone at a game hence the TiLt.

As far as our freerolls i really haven't been here long enough nor played that many but forum member trash talk should be penalized.

yes les....I was at the table you were playing at I think cause...I did not appreciate the rudeness either...I have learned so much from you guy's I resent having jack&jill jackoff at our freerolls...our password was unfortunately hijacked and broadcast and joe smuck infiltrated our group....just hope they grow up, if they continue I hope we can prevent them from returning. I've had so much fun with our Friday night freerolls...I hate the thought of it being not "classy" like it has been, previous to the last couple of weeks...but pressure to grow creates problems too I'm sure for our wonderful administrators. Hopefully, we can add a few more diamonds to the group...and a little less coal!

This freeroll is the very best.

Few people, lots of friends. I really don't want to see it bigger.

I gotta say I enjoyed the games when they were smaller too Les.I suggest banning the people who screw the game up for an entire month. This may prevent players from acting up to begin with,if they know there will be a penalty for bad behavior.

Respect.
One word.
Nothing else.

That's all that needs to be said.

These are private forum games and respect should be a minimum requirement.
